Ukraine's attack on Iranian vessel 'cannot go unanswered': Iran foreign minister

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi wrote on X that a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian commercial vessel that killed a sailor cannot go unanswered.

Araqchi alleged that the attack was a blatant violation of the UN charter and that it was done at Israel's behest to drag Europe into the ongoing West Asia war.

Iran alleged on Sunday that Ukraine attacked an Iranian vessel in the Caspian sea with a drone, killing a sailor.

The development marks an unexpected turn to the war in West Asia that has seen tit-for-tat attacks from both the United States and Iran.
